National Haunted House Day!

It's the second Friday in October, so that means it's
National Haunted House Day! Tonight would be a fine night to visit a local haunted house and help keep the industry thriving and a fun way to celebrate the Halloween season. So go get your scare on!!

It's National Haunted House Day!

Happy National Haunted House Day! Why not celebrate this wonderful holiday by going out tonight and taking in
a local haunted attraction?

I will be doing my part by guest acting in the queue line at my favorite local establishment (who happens to be celebrating their incredible FIFTIETH SEASON this year!). And they have never looked better! I got a chance to go through the Akron Haunted Schoolhouse & Laboratory last week and both houses are looking better than they have in years. If you're in the Northeast Ohio area, come on out tonight and join in on the fun! I'll be waiting for you...

National Haunted House Day 2014

Today is the second Friday of October, which means that today is National Haunted House Day! A day to get out and visit a haunted attraction near you!

At least it was last year... I checked their site and it hasn't been updated since last October. Not sure if this is still a thing.

But hey, regardless, why not get out and visit a haunted house in your area today!? Take a break from the grind of your Halloween work for one night and go out and have some fun! Let's support those who support the season.

Also, no Freebie Friday this week, as I've been spending long hours in the garage on some killer new props and I didn't have a chance to get anything together (you should check back tomorrow to see what I've been working on). Sorry group, but stop back next Friday for something cool. And free.

Three weeks until Halloween and a long list still in front of me. Time to get back to the garage. Are you ready for the big night??

National Haunted House Day!

Today marks the second Friday of October, which means that it's National Haunted House Day! Visit the NHHD site and sign the petition to make it official! With a lot of friends who work in the haunted house industry, I believe that they should have a national day of recognition with a chance to do some good in their respective communities.

From their site:
Haunted Houses and the industry around them have impacted popular culture in a permanent way. In recent history, over the past few decades at least, Haunted Houses have been slowly and methodically extending the celebration of Halloween and Horror well beyond a single night in October. Attending haunted houses has become a staple “to do” for a huge number of people across the country during that time of the year.
We are artists, business owners, community leaders, charitable leaders, and by our initiative to establish this holiday we are united by a common vision and passion for an industry.  We ask you to join us in standing up together and asking that members of congress adopt legislation to enact a proposition to help make NATIONAL HAUNTED HOUSE DAY an official American holiday on the second Friday of October.
We further insist that haunted house across the country support this holiday by contributing to charitable causes on National Haunted House Day by donating a portion of their proceeds on the second Friday in October to a charity or nonprofit of their choice.

(As an unfortunate update, the petition page has been temporarily disabled due to our Congress' inability to play nicely. Maybe next year...)
