Samhain - "Possession"

Final Samhain Saturday track for the night! This track was scheduled to be on their unreleased final album, Samhain Grim, that was planned for 1988 (it was later released as a bootleg album called Final Descent in 1990).

Danzig fans should recognize this track, because after the break-up of Samhain in 1987, Glenn and Eerie Von went on to form Danzig, rerecording this track for the 1988 release of Danzig... but honestly, I love the raw, unpolished sound of this version better!

Samhain - "Unholy Passion"

Unholy passion, I feel for you
Dreadful emotion, that comes from here
This thing that hangs down my leg
I feel for you

No mistaking what THIS track is about! Samhain Saturday track number 4. Title track from their 1985 EP. This is the original (and much better) version of this song. I absolutely love the chimes in this track. They just sound so evil!

WARNING: There is some explicit art in the video clip below. It was the original explicit art that was featured on the cover of the record. So if you're easily offended, please turn back now.

But if you're totally awesome, scroll down and press play!

Samhain - "Archangel"

The beast is come to claim the youth...

Samhain Saturday track number 3. Another classic!

Samhain - "November's Fire"

Night calls on summer's end
Dark aspect, breed divine
Knee-deep, the blood of swine
Come season, come reborn...

Samhain Saturday track number 2. From their 1986 release, November Coming Fire.

Samhain - "The Howl"

Last Saturday, I decided to throw down some tracks from The Misfits. So many good tunes. So many memories...

For today, I thought I'd keep the horror punk theme going. Today I'm doing Samhain Saturday! Samhain. Glenn Danzig's short-lived band between The Misfits and Danzig. So underrated, but so, so good!

Gonna start with my favorite Samhain track to get things going...

Weather Report

Last night, we went to a neighborhood trick-or-treat party. It rained. We're heading to another neighborhood trick-or-treat party tonight. It's raining. And I just started looking at our city's weather forecast for Halloween night...

Not looking too promising... Weather. It's the one thing that I can't control for my annual yard haunt and it always puts my stomach in knots. I'm hoping that there's still enough time that the forecast will change a bit towards the better, but we'll push ahead regardless. It certainly won't be the first year it has rained on Halloween. And if there's one thing that I have learned while doing this, is that some rain won't stop the hordes of ravenous trick-or-treaters from visiting Highbury Cemetery on Halloween night...

I also wanted to wish everyone running their haunts tonight good luck. Regardless of the weather, push forward and do what you do! We are the ones who fight to preserve the glorious traditions of Halloween and keep it fun and scary for the next generations to enjoy. Our work is so important. Don't ever stop!!
