Highbury Cemetery Logo, 2025

Welcome. Here we are again. October 1st...

IT'S OFFICIALLY THE HALLOWEEN SEASON! And it's time to kick off the annual Countdown to Halloween! An orange-and-black blitz of 31 posts in 31 days, all leading up to our high holiday of All Hallows Eve!! This is my 15th year celebrating all things creepy and cool with the Countdown to Halloween blog party, and we are still going strong. Can you feel that crisp, electric excitement in the air!!??

We've got a long list of blog posts all lined up and ready to go. A full month stuffed with tricks and treats, so be sure to check back daily because this party is going nonstop straight through the 31st! And you don't want to miss out on the good candy, do you??

So let's get this thing started, shall we!?

Each October, I like to start the festivities with the unveiling of my annual yard haunt logo. It's a great way to set the tone for the spooky season, and it gets me motivated to finish all the planned projects for the year's haunt.

For the past 21 years, I have created an increasingly defined and prominent Highbury Cemetery haunt logo for the season. The logo is used across social media and a very small batch of t-shirts. Each year, the t-shirts are hand printed here at the Cemetery and then given out as a thank you to everyone who helps put on the yard haunt on Halloween night. A well deserved treat for all of the hard work that goes into this crazy thing every year.

So ladies and gentlemonsters, boils and ghouls, without further ado I proudly present the ghastly and gruesome logo for Highbury Cemetery, 2025:

YEAR TWENTY-TWO. So many good memories and still so much fun, why stop now?!

Only 30 days until the big night, so let's get this pumpkin party started. Let's do this!!

This is my 13th year celebrating all things creepy and cool with the Countdown to Halloween blog party, and we are still going strong. Can you feel that crisp, electric excitement in the air!!??

Each October, I like to start the festivities with the unveiling of my annual yard haunt logo. It's a great way to set the tone for the spooky season, and it gets me motivated to finish all the planned projects for the year's haunt.

And this year's logo is extra special! For the past 20 years, I have created an increasingly defined and prominent Highbury Cemetery haunt logo for the season. The logo is used on posters, stickers, and a very small batch of t-shirts. Each year, the t-shirts are hand printed here at the Cemetery and then given out as a thank you to everyone who helps put on the yard haunt on Halloween night. So ladies and gentlemonsters, boils and ghouls, without further ado I proudly present the ghastly and gruesome 20th ANNIVERSARY logo for Highbury Cemetery, 2023:

I cannot believe that I have been doing this for TWENTY YEARS. So many good memories, and so much fun!

With this year's logo, I have taken one element from each of the past 19 years' logo art and dropped it into the 'XX' portion of the logo. A subtle nod to how far Highbury Cemetery has come as a yard haunt. I'm incredibly happy with this year's logo and I can't wait to get this thing printed on some shirts. I have some really great ideas to make this the best shirt yet...

And in honor of the 20th Anniversary celebration, I might just print up a few extras to give away! Sound good? Just check back throughout the month (both here and on the Highbury Cemetery Instagram page) to see how to win one of your own! Let's do this!!

This is our 12th year celebrating all things creepy and cool with the Countdown to Halloween blog party, and we are still going strong. Can you feel that crisp, electric excitement in the air!!??

Each October, I like to start the festivities with the unveiling of my annual yard haunt logo. It's a great way to set the tone for the spooky season, and it gets me motivated to finish all the planned projects for the year's haunt.

Since 2003, I have created an increasingly defined and prominent Highbury Cemetery haunt logo for the season. The logo is used on posters, stickers, and a very small batch of t-shirts. Each year, the t-shirts are hand printed here at the Cemetery and then given out as a thank you to everyone who helps put on the yard haunt on Halloween night. A well deserved treat for all of the hard work that goes into this crazy thing every year.

So ladies and gentlemonsters, boils and ghouls, I proudly present the ghastly and gruesome logo for Highbury Cemetery, 2022:

As an added bonus, I'm going to be hanging out a bit more at the Highbury Cemetery Instagram page this October, so stop by for a continuous Halloween double shot straight to the candy corn.

Only 30 more days... Are you ready?

Highbury Cemetery Logo, 2017

With October starting on a Sunday this year, I had to bump this reveal back a day in order to get my first Cemetery Sundays post out.

But Monday is here and the October party has started!

With this year's logo, I decided to go a bit more minimal compared to the past couple of years, focusing on the shape of an old toe pincher coffin (which will be playing a big part in this year's haunt display). I also wanted to give it a more organic feel, a concept that will also be carried though on this year's haunt display.

Ladies and gentlemonsters, boils and ghouls, I present the super spooky 2017 edition of the Highbury Cemetery yard haunt logo...

As in previous years, the logo will be used in t-shirts, posters and stickers. All of which will be given to my Halloween night helpers as a thank you gift. I also hope to make some pins for this season, but I'll reveal more on that later.

This October party is in full swing, so let's enjoy it! Frankenstein is on TCM tonight, the pumpkin beers in my fridge are cold and ready, and I'm already buzzing with the season's excitement. Only 30 more days to go!! Who's ready!?!?

"The Highbury Feltie" by RoxyBlue

How insanely cool is this little guy!?! HauntForum member and good friend RoxyBlue has an array of really cool, Halloween inspired, hand-made felt figures. So imagine my surprise when her newest figure was inspired by Alice Cooper, voodoo AND my 2016 Highbury Cemetery haunt logo! I was honored to play a part in the inspiration, but was blown away when she said she was sending it to me!!

And he showed up in the mail yesterday, well packed and ready to take his place in my cherished Halloween shelf. He is already fitting in and making new friends. This really was an incredible surprise and I can't thank her enough!!

October 1st. It's finally here! Time for another Countdown To Halloween!

I'd like to welcome any first-time visitors, and welcome back all the regulars. It's time to get this annual Halloween shindig started!

October. Another 31 posts in 31 days. A huge celebration leading up to the grand high holiday of Halloween!

As in previous years, I always like to get the countdown started by revealing this year's haunt logo. A little creativity to really get the juices flowing. I've been hammering on this for the past month with great feedback from a few close friends and family members, and I think we really nailed it! As in previous years, this logo will be used for posters, stickers and that all important annual t-shirt!

Year thirteen. It's hard to believe that we've been going that long, but the excitement still flows and there's no sign of stopping! The annual countdown is on and I'm giddy with October elation!

Be sure to stop back daily, because the posts will be hitting you nonstop. Halloween art, Halloween music, Halloween props and everything else Halloween. And don't forget the annual Cemetery Sundays, where I tour local cemeteries with my camera and post up photos of all the old, beautifully ornate tombstones and mausoleums. And if that isn't enough, stop by for Freebie Fridays, where I share the wonderful sounds of my collection of old novelty Halloween records and cassettes.

October is finally here. It's time to celebrate!

October 1st. It's finally here! Time for another Countdown To Halloween!

I'd like to welcome any first-time visitors, and welcome back all the usuals! It's time to get this annual party started! October. Another 31 posts in 31 days. A huge celebration leading up to the grand high holiday of Halloween!

As in previous years, I always like to get October started by revealing this year's haunt logo. A little creativity to really get the juices flowing, and this year's logo is my best yet! I've been sitting patiently for over a week, waiting for the grand reveal. This year, I hope to use this on t-shirts, posters, stickers and who knows what else.

I'm really happy with the way this one turned out! Spooky and fun! And jeez, has it really been twelve years!?

And one quick update for today. I had surgery on my broken finger on Tuesday. A little bit more than I thought was going to happen, as I ended up getting three pins put into it. Ouch. So I'm now sitting here typing with one hand and the other hand has a huge splint and a mummy's worth of gauze wrapped around it. This will definitely hamper my productivity for the month, but I'll be sure to enlist the help of as many people as I can for set up on the big night.

All in all, it was a quick surgery and I'm feeling pretty good (thanks in part to a bottle of Vicodin!), but I'm going to end this one here for now so that I can get back to the couch and a Netflix queue full of horror movies.

Please be sure to stop back tomorrow, as I'll be celebrating the first Freebie Friday of the month with some sweet, free vintage haunt sounds! Happy October, everyone!!

October. Finally. It's here. It's here! And that means only one thing...

It's the Countdown to Halloween! 31 posts in 31 days, all leading up to the grand celebration of the year... All Hallow's Eve. Samhain. Hallowe'en.

Welcome, new guests to the madness of Highbury Cemetery, a blog about all things Halloween. Movies. Costumes. Music. Pumpkins. And most importantly, home haunting!

I would also like to welcome back any and all previous visitors. I'm gearing up for another October full of posts in celebration of that most magical of days. Work in the garage has been at a feverish pace, pumping out a slew of new props for this year's version of the Cemetery. I've also got another bin full of goodies, just waiting to be shared on Freebie Fridays. The camera has been snapping away, documenting more local cemeteries to delight and inspire for Cemetery Sundays. And I'm even going to start a new segment called Throwback Thursdays. Just when we thought we did such a great job and had so much fun in 2013, 2014 looks set to blow it out of the water. So be sure to stop back daily and join the party. It's the best month of the year and I want to celebrate it with everyone! I may even have some contests in the coming weeks, where you'll be bound to win some cool Cemetery swag. But you'll need your thinking caps on!!

So let's get this party started! Every year, I like to whip up a little logo for my home haunt. It will be used for t-shirts, posters and stickers. I've been creating them for ten years running, and it's time to introduce the logo for 2014. Can't go wrong with some skulls and some splatters...
