PEANUTS Halloween 2023 Posters

Mondo has announced their newest batch of PEANUTS posters for Halloween, 2023. Charles Schulz's classic comic strip panels featuring Snoopy, Linus, and the rest of the gang released as limited edition (and highly collectible) screen printed posters. This year's release features 3 memorable panels celebrating all things Halloween and the coming of The Great Pumpkin (including one panel that has never been published).

These posters will be available today starting at 12 Noon CT, and like all of Mondo's limited poster releases, will sell out quickly. Gotta be quick, gang!

Don't be a blockhead. Grab a poster here.

"The Crow" Poster By Rafa Orrico

I'm quickly becoming a fan of
artist Rafa Orrico's movie poster work for Mondo. Back in September, Orrico's killer graphic design-based poster art for The Thing really caught my eye, and now a new poster is releasing tomorrow, this time for the 1994 cult classic, The Crow.

Another outstanding, stark black-and-white, cut-and-paste typography layout giving it a totally bold, unique look. And like all poster releases on Mondo, this one will be limited and will go fast...

PEANUTS "Yesterday's Halloween Pumpkin" Poster

Charlie Brown, you BLOCKHEAD!! Everyone knows you don't just throw your jack-o-lantern into the trash after Halloween. You place it in a
pumpkindump, like me!!

WHAT WOULD THE GREAT PUMPKIN THINK!?!?

Here's a timely, cool new poster featuring Chuck's sadly discarded Halloween jack-o-lantern, taken directly from a classic Charles M. Schulz comic strip panel. The latest PEANUTS poster offered by Mondo, this one will be available this morning! And like all collectible screenprinted posters offered by Mondo, this one will also probably sell out quick. Good grief!

"The Thing" Posters By Rafa Orrico

Mondo is going to be offering up these really cool, limited-edition posters for John Carpenter's iconic sci-fi/horror film, The Thing, by artist Rafa Orrico. A very unique twist to a film that has been covered a million times over. I REALLY dig the bold 60s typography, the stark black-and-white imagery, and the expansive swaths of white space.

The Thing (Version 2), by Rafa Orrico.

The Thing (Version 1), by Rafa Orrico.

Version 2 is the clear winner for me. Such a great treatment and so well designed. And each unique element cleverly plays to Carpenter's vividly horrifying storyline. I don't always go after the always hard-to-get Mondo posters, but this one will be the exception.

Both of Orrico's The Thing posters will go on sale at 11 am CT, Thursday, September 15 on the Mondo Shop site. Good luck!

THE EVIL DEAD by Rafa Orrico

Check out this cool new screenprinted
Evil Dead poster by Rafa Orrico. Definitely a different take on a total classic, but amazing typography and an interesting interpretation of the Deadite face make this one worth snagging!

The poster, a limited-to-220 edition, is available from Mondo this Wednesday. Be quick!!

"Return Of The Living Dead" Poster by Florian Bertmer

Mondo sure is making it hard for me to NOT be a poster collector this October. First it was their stunning "Dracula: Prince Of Darkness" poster by J.S. Rossbach

And now they've just released this cool "Return Of The Living Dead" retro punk flyer looking poster by Florian Bertmer.

Such a great and unique design treatment for an absolute horror classic, featuring everyone's favorite goopy mess of a zombie, Tarman! Great colors on this one, too. (They released a Misfits-inspired "Devilock" color variant which sold out immediately, although I prefer the simple and bold colors of this version better. But that's just me...)

More brains!!

"Dracula: Prince of Darkness" Poster by J.S. Rossbach

What an absolutely STUNNING poster! Today, Mondo released this 8-color screenprint poster by J.S. Rossbach, featuring Christopher Lee's masterful reprisal of Count Dracula in Hammer Films' 1966 classic film, Dracula: Prince of Darkness.

I'm not usually a collector of movie posters, but with this one I might make an exception. Fantastic typography and colors really nail that 60s horror vibe, and I would love to hang this beauty on my wall...

Alan Howarth - "Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers" Soundtrack

Like most Halloween fans, I'm all about the first three installments of the film franchise. But I recently picked up the Mondo Halloween box set, featuring the soundtracks to the first five films.

I have listened to the soundtracks to the first three films a million times each, but I was pleasantly surprised by Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers. This soundtrack was composed solely by Alan Howarth, who had worked previously in conjunction with John Carpenter on Halloween II and Halloween III: Season of the Witch.

Howarth takes the iconic 5/4 theme timing of the original, but adds a nice bit of ambient sound to give it a fresh update. And I love Mondo's new vinyl release version. It's slightly different than the 1988 original, but it still flows really well. And you gotta love that red-and-white clown costume split vinyl! This one has been on constant rotation at the Cemetery all weekend long...

"Creature From The Black Lagoon" by Brandon Holt

I'm hoping to change my luck with Mondo poster sales by actually scoring this upcoming release. This Creature From The Black Lagoon poster by Brandon Holt is absolutely stunning! Keep an eye on the Mondo site to see when this one will go on sale. And good luck!

"The Thing: Infection at Outpost 31" Board Game Photos

The first photos have been released for Mondo and Project Raygun's newest board game collaboration project. The Thing: Infection at Outpost 31 is based on John Carpenter's 1982 horror masterpiece, The Thing, and features cool artwork from Phantom City Creative (as well as a limited edition Mondo exclusive version with insanely cool slipcase art by Jock!).

After seeing the new game board and game pieces, I'm becoming more and more interested! I'm very curious to see how this game is played, and I will definitely be going after the limited edition version upon release. The game won't be available for retail purchase until October, but it is on display now in Mondo's booth (#835) at San Diego Comic Con. And if anyone will be there, I'd be eternally grateful if you'd pick up a limited, free "Outpost 31" patch! I'd gladly pay shipping!!

Keep up-to-date as we get closer to the game's release date by signing up for the email newsletter at Mondo's "Infection at Outpost 31" page

Until then, nothing else I can do, just wait...

New Vinyl: "Twin Peaks" Original Score - Mondo

Available today is the vinyl reissue of what is perhaps the greatest score ever written - Angelo Badalamenti's soundtrack masterpiece for David Lynch's Twin Peaks. Released 25 years after the original, Mondo's gorgeous new version features a cool die-cut outer jacket, spot varnish and liner notes by composer Badalamenti himself. But perhaps the coolest feature of all? It's pressed on "Damn Fine Coffee" brown swirl vinyl...

Twin Peaks is available now over at Mondo. Do yourself a favor and grab a copy not only for the gorgeous new packaging, but for the stunning score contained within! It's a damn fine vinyl offering.

Carlo Maria Cordio - "Rosso Sangue (Absurd)"

I finally had the chance to see Absurd, a lesser-known early 80s Italian slasher, directed by the infamous Joe D'Amato. Great gore, an amazing 6-foot-9 villain and an end scene that is well worth the time to watch. Add to this an incredible score by Carlo Maria Cordio (pretty much this one amazing song used over and over), and you have a cult classic Video Nasty must-see!

Be sure to also check out the recent soundtrack re-release, in what is perhaps the greatest record cover ever created by Wes Benscoter, for Mondo. This too, will be making its way into my collection in short order!
