Well, we’ve been away for a while, but we just hit the four month roll-in for Halloween, 2010. We’re starting earlier than ever before (but already we’re behind). Many new projects are in the works for this year’s edition of Highbury Cemetery and those sweet, sweet wheels of progress have been topped off, whitewalls scrubbed down and chrome polished up. Time to lay some rubber with ‘em. In the next few weeks, both Scrapes and I will be adding many new posts about all things Halloween. Look for how-to’s, movie reviews, and all sorts of ghoulish sinews.
In the mean time, let’s fill those heads with some tunes, shall we? Gotta have something to listen to while we’re hammering away. And during those warm summer nights, what could be more fun than some Halloween buzz straight from the garage? I’ve been on a real kick lately, getting my fill of the lo-fi punk legends that are The Mummies. With vintage instruments and full mummy costumes, how can you go wrong?

A big thanks to rob downs for posting these clips from the 2008 Funtastic Dracula Festival in Valencia, Spain. And if you're anywhere near the Pacific Northwest, you're in luck. They are getting back together for a one-time show on August 20th at Dante's in Portland. Be there or be square.
