To me, there's nothing better than throwing an old Halloween vinyl record onto the turntable. Novelty records were released aplenty throughout the 60s, 70s, 80s and even into the 90s.
The noisy, crackly vinyl spins the spooky sounds and a nostalgic glow envelopes me. These were the sounds of the season throughout my childhood and every spin takes me back.
A couple of years ago, I started collecting copies of all those old soundtracks and thought, "I need to share these with everyone!" So that's what I did. Rip a digital copy, complete with every pop, crackle and skip intact. I then post each throughout the month of October, calling it Freebie Fridays.
Because I want to share that same nostalgic Halloween glow with all of you...enjoy!
